Summer Book Clubs

OFD is organizing two summer book clubs in June. Please indicate your interest in one or both groups .

  • Disability Visibility: First Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century edited by Alice Wong
    Wednesday, June 18 from 1:00-2:30 pm in SF 314 and on  

  • Understanding the Gen Z student: the changing classroom and campus from the Chronicle of Higher Education
    Friday, June 27 from 10:00-11:30 am on

Note that there is no funding for either book club, but Alice Wong's book is available through the CSUEB library. For the Chronicle of Higher Education book, you can request a physical copy be delivered to campus or your home with a check-out period of 56 days, or you can request individual chapters for email delivery in approximately 24 hours.

Teaching and Learning Resources

The CSU Chancellor’s Office offers courses and resources about Generative AI on their page. The Online Campus Faculty Support & Resource page includes multiple opportunities for faculty to get help with online course design, AI, Canvas, accessibility, and external applications/tools. East Bay’s own self-paced Developing Equitable Grading Practices course is available to all faculty and staff through Canvas.

This self-paced course–developed by CSUEB faculty members Eve Higby and Stephanie Zaleski–is available to all faculty and staff through Canvas. Please email Sarah Nielsen (sarah.nielsen@csueastbay.edu) to be added to the course. OFD provides proof of completion.
